Hi! C'mon in. We've been waiting for you. Have a seat. Tell us a little about yourself. Where ya from? What do you do? Do you like Haiku? Well, here's your chance to sound off. Don't be intimidated by the whole "Sign in" deal; I had to do that due to nefarious guest-book spammers. I got tired of cleaning tons of porn links from my site every day.

Hi Kennan It was so great to see you at the 30th year high school reunion along with the others. Oh I'm sorry now everyone will no you are not 29! I was perusing your website here and am very much "in awe". Looking forward to seeing you the weekend of the October 3rd and 4th up in my neck of the woods. P.S. For all the world to know, not only is Kennan an awesome musician but he is an awesome shopper. I needed specifically blue and gold cake plates and blue and gold candles for the reunion and he came through like a champ perfectly in every respect. Of course that is our dirty little secret. Oops now the whole world knows. Claire

Hey You - loved Rev Jack's blog! What a kid, eh? Anyhow, looks like me & my worse half will be moving back into the old Concord house next year. Looking forward to hanging w/you & the missus sometime in the future. As I've been going thru everything in my house, I happened upon some old pics from the late 70's. Band shots of you, Jamie & Joiret (probably in the garage) and some other goofy ones. Got a few good guffaws out of them!
I'll be in touch upon our return - can't wait to be back in Cal! xoxo Jeanette

Hi Kennan,
I just wanted to mention with sadness and respect the passing of NY Jazz bassist Dennis Irwin at the tender age of 56 of liver failure due to cancer. He had become a rallying point for musicians without healthcare. He was a monster player. From a recent NY Times article:
"In 1973, while still in school, he got a job as a bassist playing with the pianist Red Garland; he moved to New York in 1974 without graduating and quickly found work with Ted Curson, Betty Carter and Mr. Allison, among others. In 1977 he began a three-year stint in Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers."
I heard some of his music on the local jazz station this morning as I was dropping off the girls at school. Sounded really good. RIP, Dennis Irwin.

Hey Kennan,
I'm the guy who wrote The Fade-away. I was Googling myself, as is fun to do every now and again, and found your reference to it on one of your pages. I posted there, but I figure you'll probably see this before you see that.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the book. Are you a Port Costa person? I'll keep an eye on your schedule and come say hello sometime.
God Bless, Geo.

Howdy Kennan,
Sorry we missed you in California a few weeks ago. Perhaps we can catch you in Nashville on 9/29.
I noted a recent posting from Kurt Harms laying claim to a 70's roadie title acting on behalf of you and Jim. I would respectfully point out to Mr. Harms that during that same period I frequently did it in 7" platform shoes. Making me, simultaneously your most active, tallest, and least efficient roadie of that period. Should Mr. Harms care to file a grievance with regard to my claim of roadie superiority he should contact my attorney directly.
Otherwise, Hello Mr. Harms and it would be great to hear from you. Perhaps Kennan can pass you my email address. I would prefer like him to limit my unsolicited porn-site exposure. (Well at least the unsolicited gay-porn exposure)

Hey, Kennan! Thought I'd make this communication a bit more official and join your group of fans. (Kinda reminds me of roadie-ing for you and James a couple of times back in high school.) I'll have to send you an email and give you an update. Glad to see you're still playing bass and having a good time doing it! Stay in touch.

Kennan - You and the drummer - "In the pocket" and Jonny's just a solid performer - great to see you in Sacramento - I've been in the Jazz immersion programs @ UCSD and Sacramento State for the past few weeks, taking a break, then back in San Diego for a few more weeks sitting in on few Pro Blues Jams here. Kennan, they're so nice (like you), solid musicians, lots of horns (Shelltown Horns, pro-horn band letting me join-in), working on parts on the fly - keeping me on my toes for sure; Also, with such fortune, working with one of the best Blues Saxophonist on the West Coast, Jonny Viau - he's my hero - he's been such a friend and wonderful mentor......but looks like I'll be there for your 8/4 gig - so Jim and I will be there for sure, and I'm putting the word out -'til then....
safe travels – thank you again for your kind reception –
Peace to you and your family –

Okay, so it seems to be pulling teeth to get people to sign up to sign my guest book. That's okay, I have a very-small-yet-very-mighty group here.
So let's try something new; a Mailing List! Because really, can you ever get enough SPAM? Sign up and I'll send you Gig notices, news alerts, and...i dunno...anything but Bad Office Humor. There's already plenty of that in Cyberspace.
Oh, and I promise not to sell your E-Mail address to anyone else. Unless ofcourse they offer me some ridiculous amount of money.
