His influences include, Dave La Rue, Mark King, Geddy Lee, Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorious, Chris Squire and many others. Ed is heavily influenced by many great guitarists as well as bassists and actually started playing guitar before switching to the bass early on. Being so influenced by Jazz, Funk, and Fusion bassists, he is able to bring another demension to Enchants progressive, technical side. Along with drummer Sean Flanagan Enchants Rythym section holds a unique groove in odd and off time signatures with a feel unique in the genre of progressive rock. Ed's funk and slap influences include the early pioneers, Larry Graham, Louis Johnson and Stanley Clarke who took this method to a higher level. His biggest influence is probably Mark King from Level 42 fame. His highly percussive and tight slap and snap were a huge influence on Ed early on.
